Happy Father's Day! To anyone out there who cares about this little rock band from Austin, TX, here's what's up with us these days. Eric left the band shortly after our last show a year ago. We spent the next 5 months actively auditioning for a new frontman with no luck. The remaining band members have stayed close over the past year, but the music has mostly stopped. Josh is expecting a baby girl in late July. Chris is working hard and playing guitar every day. Jeremy just got a new job and has been hard at work as well. Jerry broke his arm in a bike accident and has been sidelined from drumming for at least the next 6 months. Suffice to say, if you are eagerly waiting on the return of Stealing Silence, please don't hold your breath. We may be back at some point as we all remain great friends, but for the time being it seems like life has other plans for all of us. Feel free to write us and say hello from time to time and don't be a stranger.

As of 11/29, Jason "Mashed P" Taylor is no longer a member of Stealing Silence. It's been something that has been a long time coming for him since he has always wanted to play heavy music and has decided to take his musical aspirations in that direction. The rest of us have decided to seize this opportunity and move Eric up to be our lead singer. We also decided that this was the perfect time to audition for a new lead guitarist and found the perfect combination of energy, enthusiasm, and ambition in a slayer named Al Dente. Please join the entire band in welcoming Al to Stealing Silence. We are all very excited about the new direction and many possibilities this will bring to us.

Great news! I just got word from the Managing Editor of the Arizona Reporter that "Sitting in My Room" was selected as the No. 34 song on the Arizona Reporter Internet Music List this week. Check it out!

Stealing Silence has been selected to perform at the 101X Homegrown Live show at the Red Rum on Wednesday, August 31, 2005. The show is an ALL AGES show with $1.00 cover and features four bands from the Austin Indie Alliance. We will be the second band of the night and will take the stage at 10:00 PM for a 30 minute set. Doors open at 8:00 PM with Slider, Freebleeder, and Dinkum also playing that night.
